Right now, English law hasn't quite caught up to how awesome celebrant weddings are, so they aren't legally binding.
But don't worry! There's an easy workaround: Just book a simple, low-cost Statutory Ceremony with two witnesses at your local Register Office to sort the legal paperwork.
Once that's ticked off... you leave the fun part to me!

A statutory ceremony is a simple, 'no frills' ceremony that fulfils the basic legal obligations. They're offered on weekdays in a simple office. The cost of the ceremony is around £60-£80, plus a notice fee of around £80-£100.
The couple attend with 2 witnesses, so it's sometimes called a '2+2' ceremony. Not all register offices will advertise this option widely, so make sure you ask specifically for a statutory ceremony when you enquire.
Here's a list of links about statutory ceremonies from register offices in the West Midlands and surrounding area.
