Friends and Family

Involving Friends and Family

Chances are, if you're celebrating, you'll have your favourite people around you to share your joy. There are all sorts of ways for them to be involved in the ceremony, including engaging in symbolic actions. You can include meaningful music  or select special readings that resonate with you. Remember, it's YOUR day, and you get to choose!

Readings

A popular way to involve friends and family is to have one or more of them perform a reading. There are many sources for wedding readings, including poems, song lyrics, and quotes from books, TV, and films. I can provide a range of suggestions to help you find something that truly resonates with you.

You might even have a talented writer in your circle who would love to create something completely personal for you, and I'm all for this! Here is Olly's mum, Hilary, reciting some well-chosen words that beautifully complement the music in weddings.

Music

Music in weddings is a key part of any ceremony. It sets the mood, stirs emotions, and triggers memories. It can make us laugh, make us think, and make us cry. This unifying creative force enhances personalized ceremonies and often involves symbolic actions that resonate deeply with guests.

So if you have a talented singer or musician among your family and friends, why not involve them in your ceremony? They could perform during key moments such as your entrance, exit, and even while you sign the certificate. This will create a poignant and memorable part of your wedding, making the experience even more special with meaningful wedding readings and music.

Symbolic Actions

Another way to enhance ceremony involvement is for friends and family members to participate in symbolic actions such as handfasting, a candle ceremony, or sand blending. You can also create personalized ceremonies that reflect your interests and passions! For more information, check out the symbolic actions page.

In this example, Ben, Stella, and their children each contributed a unique layer of sand during a sand ceremony, which beautifully illustrates how wedding readings and music in weddings can also add a personal touch to the celebration.

Memories and messages

One lovely way to enhance your ceremony involvement is by including cherished memories and messages from your friends and family in the storytelling section. This feature is part of both the "The Power Of Love" and "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" packages.

With your permission, I'll invite your key friends and family members to share their favorite memories and anecdotes about you, which can be beautifully woven into your personalized ceremonies. These heartfelt contributions will not only add a unique touch but also create emotional moments during your ceremony. I can include them in my draft script for your review, or I can keep them as a surprise until the big day!

Additionally, we can incorporate symbolic actions and wedding readings that resonate with you as a couple, enhancing the overall experience.
